Blind Creek Beach (South) is located at 5460 S Ocean Dr (State Road A1A) on Hutchinson Island near Fort Pierce, FL. If you've ever wanted to try drive to a location using Latitude and Longitude, this would be a excellent time to try (27.36448 -80.247274). There are no address numbers posted on the road, so finding the right exit can be somewhat challenging.
But for the adventurous or technically inept, here are instructions on getting you there. You can get to the beach from either I95 Exit 138 from the North or Exit 129 from the South. Either way you want to make your way to HWY A1A Seaway Drive. From the North on I95 (and referencing our map) take Exit 138 (State Road 614/Indrio Rd 44) East until it ends at Highway 1. Turn South.
In about 2 miles DO NOT take the HWY A1A North Causeway because it would take you North rather than South. Instead, go one more mile South and turn left onto HWY A1A Seaway Drive.
Follow A1A Seaway Drive as it soon turns South. In about four miles watch carefully for a Blind Creak Beachside sign. Turn left into the parking area. If you cross a bridge and see two nuclear reactor buildings on your right, you have just missed the beach entrance. Turn around and you will see a similar sign pointing to the right.
As you pull into the parking area, on your left you will see a Blind Creek "Ocean to River" sign.
There are really no designated parking spaces, but try to park in a similar fashion as other parked vehicles.
The dune crossing to the beach is well marked. The single trash can is the only "improvement" on the beach.
Unless the sign is completely grown-over, be reminded that there are no lifeguards on this beach.
Cross the sand dune and turn right. About 50 yards South you may or may not see a sign warning textiles that they may get their eyes scorched (it keeps getting lifted).
The Naturist Beach officially starts 100 yards more to the south and extends for about a quarter mile.
About Blind Creek Beach
Blind Creek Beach is managed by St. Lucie County Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department. The beach is part of a 409-acre (166-hectare) upland and wetland preserve.
The rangers there are cordial and will not come down to the Naturist area unless they mean to write up or arrest someone for an activity that should never be done on any beach, nude or clothed (see below). Be sure to check out the web site of the Friends of Blind Creek Beach.
Have an enjoyable visit, and PLEASE REMEMBER:
- There are NO improvements whatsoever. Bring everything you need and please take it back out when you are done.- Pets are not allowed (Park rules)
- Stay out of the dunes or you will be ticketed
- Park only in parking areas or your car may be ticketed
- Do not go north of the sign naked (or where the sign would be if it was there)
- Refrain from any behavior that could be interpreted as lewd or lascivious (sexual) or you will be arrested
- Be respectful of the rangers so that we can maintain a courteous and cooperative atmosphere
